This morning, a strategic meeting between the Coordinator of the Special Projects Management Unit, Nuno Gomes, and the Mayor of Porto Novo, Aníbal Fonseca, prioritized crucial details for the progress of activities linked to the tourism project.
During the meeting, both leaders agreed on the urgency of moving forward with the tendering process for the start of the rehabilitation works on the side roads of Santo Antão Island, seeing it as a significant milestone for the development of tourism in this municipality.
The Coordinator emphatically stressed the importance of continued collaboration and commitment, emphasizing the dedication and motivation of the Special Projects Management Unit (UGPE) to ensure that the project continues to progress effectively.
For his part, the Mayor expressed his support for the UGPE and highlighted his team’s firm commitment to ensuring the success of the tourism and blue economy projects, with a view to positively impacting the community.
Aguinaldo Marçal, the Project Manager, took the opportunity to share perspectives on the next steps, revealing solid planning for the activities planned in the Municipality of Porto Novo, most notably works to improve the side roads and the model for their governance and promotion, as well as technical studies for future investments by the central and local government in works to upgrade the coastal/fishing area of Tarrafal de Monte Trigo.
This strategic meeting consolidated the leaders’ determination to cooperate and ensure that the project reaches its full potential, providing substantial benefits for the community of Porto Novo and Santo Antão.
