UGPE receives visit from World Bank Director for Cape Verde

The Director of the World Bank for Cape Verde, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Mauritania and Senegal, Keiko Miwa, visited the Special Projects Management Unit (UGPE) today, September 8, accompanied by a delegation that included the World Bank Resident Representative for Cape Verde, Eneida Fernandes, and the Director of Operations, Pierre Bonneau.

During the visit, the World Bank delegation met with the UGPE team, led by the Coordinator, Nuno Gomes. At this meeting, Nuno Gomes gave a presentation on the performance of the projects implemented by the UGPE, with an emphasis on the areas of Tourism, Energy and Human Capital.

In addition to the Director of the World Bank and the aforementioned representatives, the meeting was also attended by the Finance Director, José Andrade, the manager of the #RenewableEnergiesandImprovingEnergyEfficiencyinPublicServicesProject, Daniel Santos, Aguinaldo Marçal, the manager of the #ResilientTourismandDevelopment of theBlueEconomyProject and the Procurement Officer, Irenalina Vicente.

It should be noted that the World Bank delegation is in Cape Verde for a working visit from September 5 to 10, with the aim of monitoring the implementation of government projects financed by the WB and evaluating the overall portfolio of programs and projects in Cape Verde financed by the World Bank.
