A mission from the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is in Cape Verde for a two-day visit (January 8 and 9). On Tuesday, the delegation was received by the Coordinator of the Special Projects Management Unit, Eng. Nuno Gomes, accompanied by Eng. Daniel Santos, SCADA Project Manager, and Dr. Frederic Mbassa, a technician from #DireçãoNacionaldoPlano.
After the visit to UGPE, the JICA delegation went to the Palmarejo Power Plant and the National Dispatch Center to visit the two infrastructures financed by the Japanese government. The JICA delegation was accompanied by Daniel Santos and the directors of the power plant and the National Dispatch Center.
JICA has played a crucial role as a partner of the Cape Verdean government, financing significant projects in the energy sector. Among these projects are the Single Power Plant and the Six Islands Project.
