Fiduciary Mission of the State-Owned Enterprises Budget Management Project

As part of a World Bank fiduciary mission to Cabo Verde from March 6 to 10, training was provided on March 6 and 7 on the review of Financial and Procurement procedures for staff of the Special Projects Management Unit, with a view to strengthening UGPE’s technical skills.

This is a Fiduciary mission of the State-Owned Enterprises Budget Management Project which takes place in the context of reviewing disbursement procedures, project management and forms of justifying expenses, as well as creating interaction with the UGPE.

According to World Bank specialist Carlos Mondlane, the training was a success. Mondlane understands that this refresh was necessary, taking into account that from 2018 to 2023 there were changes at the level of financial disbursements and forms of justifications, and on the other hand, there was also the introduction of new technologies and platforms.

“We are working in partnership on this development project, and our coming for this interaction allowed us to learn how the State Companies Budget Management Project has been managed at the financial level and if there is any difficulty regarding the implementation and disbursements in a perspective of finding a solution together.

As for the performance of employees, says the specialist, this team is dynamic and committed to what they do, “I have this as a good experience.

Apart from this mission, the agenda also includes meetings and gatherings focused on the financial area.
