Tourism infrastructures in debate at the meeting on the implementation of the Resilient Tourism and Blue Economy Development Project

This Friday (10), a meeting was held with the Mission to support the implementation of the World Bank Resilient Tourism and Blue Economy Development Project on the Progress of tourism infrastructure in Cidade Velha, Tarrafal de Santiago, Santo Antão, Sal and São Vicente.

 

These activities fall under component 1 which consists of developing integrated and resilient tourism and blue economy infrastructures, with the objective of remodeling the infrastructures to expand the tourism offer and create an enabling environment for future private sector investment while improving the quality, sustainability, and resilience of the selected destinations.

During this debriefing meeting, summaries of the ongoing activities were presented and following this they had the opportunity to discuss technical issues, with emphasis on the presentation of the Pontão de Santa Maria, which was in charge of the company responsible for the rehabilitation of this tourist infrastructure.

Recall that the WB team is in Cape Verde since March 6, having already held meetings and visits to the islands of Santo Antão and São Vicente, as part of the monitoring of the implementation of the project.
