Government launches Resilient Tourism and Blue Economy Development Project in Cabo Verde

The Resilient Tourism and Blue Economy Development Project in Cabo Verde was launched by the government on June 16, 2022. The ceremony was presided over by the Prime Minister, Dr. Ulisses Correia e Silva, in the presence of the World Bank Director for Cabo Verde, Dr. Nathan Belete, and took place on the island of Sal.

 

During the ceremony the Financing Agreement for the Project was signed, representing the Government of Cabo Verde, by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and Business Development and Minister of Digital Economy, Dr. Olavo Correia and on behalf of the World Bank, by the World Bank Director for Cabo Verde, Dr. Nathan Belete.

 

The public presentation of the project was in charge of the Special Projects Management Unit (UGPE), represented by the Coordinator, Engineer Nuno Gomes. This service will deal with its implementation through the Project Execution Cell.

 

The aforementioned act took place within the scope of the forum: Cabo Verde Investment Forum (CVIF), which will take place on the 16th and 17th of this month.

 

It should be noted that this project, financed by the World Bank, which is budgeted at US$ 30,000,000 (thirty million US dollars), plus an amount of US$ 5 million in co-financing through a grant from the Global Program for the Blue Economy Multi-donor Trust Fund , and will last for 5 years.
