Since March 24, a training course in Basic Cooking Techniques is taking place, aimed at a group of 18 trainees in the municipality of Porto Novo on the island of Santo Antão, as part of the Productive Inclusion Program, of the Social Inclusion Project.
The training in basic cooking techniques focuses on entrepreneurship, promotion of self-income, food hygiene and safety, as well as health safety, and is initially aimed at RSI beneficiaries on the islands of Santiago (Santa Catarina, Santa Cruz, São Salvador do Mundo, and São Miguel), Santo Antão (Ribeira Grande and Porto Novo), São Vicente, and Fogo.
The Social and Productive Inclusion Project, funded by the World Bank, will benefit 2,000 (two thousand) families of the 4,500 (four thousand and five hundred) families benefiting from the SII (social inclusion income).
The goal of this project is to strengthen the potential of SII beneficiary families, through a set of actions, procedures, instruments and mechanisms, in conjunction with the area of employment and vocational training, enabling them to engage in income-generating activities.
