Working meetings in the framework of the mission of the Project on Harmonization and Improvement of Statistics in West Africa

During this week (May 02 to 05) the World Bank experts, are meeting with the various beneficiaries, namely, the National Institute of Statistics, Ministries of Agriculture, Health, Finance, among others, in order to improve the articulation between the parties and review the progress of ongoing actions associated with the project.

According to the manager of the Project for Harmonization and Improvement of Statistics in West Africa, José Moniz Fernandes, the main subject of these meetings is to individually review the progress made so far in the HISWA Project, and to improve the initiatives outlined within the framework of this project.

Thus, at the end, after collecting all this information, the team will be in charge of elaborating a mission report detailing the main conclusions and the actions agreed upon during this mission.

It should be noted that this is a project funded by the World Bank and implemented by the Special Projects Management Unit, which aims to strengthen the statistical system of participating countries and regional bodies in Africa to produce, disseminate and improve the use of key economic and social statistics.
