Under the project Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Improvement in Public Services, took place this Thursday, February 23, the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of energy, between the Special Projects Management Unit and the Center for Renewable Energy and Industrial Maintenance.
The document was initialed by UGPE’s Coordinator, Nuno Gomes, and by the President of CERMI, Gilson Correia. The ceremony was also attended by the Executive Administrator, Denise Andrade and the collaborator Alexander Martins and the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Improvement Project Manager at UGPE, Daniel Santos.
This agreement now signed represents a great gain for CERMI says the President Gilson Correia, once it is entrusted the management of the incubation project of 30 young people that later will provide service in the area of operation and maintenance of solar parks installed in health structures at national level.
According to Gilson Correia, this project consists in recruiting young people from all the islands with training in electricity, renewable energy and related areas, in order to, after the technical training of 5 years and with the financial capacity, create companies in their respective islands to provide services to health structures.
With the signing of this memorandum, this project officially kicks off, as Correia assures that all the conditions are already in place.
It should be noted that through the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding between UGPE and CERMI, the terms of funding of Operation and Maintenance (O&M) activities to be performed by CERMI under subcomponent 1b of the Project (Resilient and Efficient Electricity Services in public utilities) will be established, in accordance with the provisions of the Financing Agreement and the Project Document (PAD).
