Public Presentation of the Project: Improving Connectivity and Urban Infrastructure in Cape Verde

The Public Presentation ceremony took place on Thursday, January 25, in the city of Assomada, in Santa Catarina, and was presided over by the Prime Minister of Cape Verde, Dr. José Ulisses Correia e Silva.

This project represents a crucial initiative by the Government of Cape Verde, financed by the World Bank, with the central objective of improving access to climate-resilient transportation and raising the quality of infrastructure and services in urban areas and surrounding rural communities.

It also seeks to boost inclusive economic growth, improve the population’s quality of life and strengthen the country’s sustainability.

The project is made up of five essential components, ranging from resilient urban and community infrastructure to improving transport connectivity and resilience, technical assistance, management and implementation, as well as a component dedicated to contingent emergency response.

Under the coordination of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Spatial Planning and Housing, with the support of entities such as Infraestruturas de Cabo Verde and Estradas de Cabo Verde, this project promises to contribute significantly to the sustainable and resilient development of the country, providing tangible benefits for the entire population.
