The Family Support and Productive Inclusion training, promoted by the Ministry of Family, Inclusion and Social Development (MFIDS), through the General Directorate for Social Inclusion (DGIS), aimed at social technicians, including councillors from the country’s 22 municipalities, which ran from July to August 2023, ended with a positive evaluation.
The assessment comes from Ivandro Correia, a technician and trainer at the General Directorate for Social Inclusion, who said that the objectives set for this training were achieved and the technicians left trained to make better use of the digital family monitoring platform.
“The training was excellent and the trainees participated very actively and dynamically, and we had some technicians who already had some knowledge of the platform. In terms of the content of the training, we were able to convey the information and through the questions and participation of the trainees we were able to see how it was assimilated,” she said.
On the other hand, Zuleica Soares, a social technician from Maio Town Hall, also rated the training positively, both in terms of the content covered and the dynamics developed.
“The family support program was conveyed clearly and succinctly and I was able to get a clear idea, which will help me in my work with the Social Inclusion Income or family support and any other program developed by the Ministry,” she said.
It should be noted that the training in Family Support and Productive Inclusion is part of the implementation of the Human Capital Project, funded by the World Bank, in partnership with the UGPE, and aims to strengthen technicians’ skills in using the digital platform, with a view to better operationalizing the support of families in situations of social vulnerability.
It should be noted that the Human Capital Project plans to involve 2,000 families in productive inclusion and family support this year, contributing to their inclusion and the promotion of income-generating activities, as well as reducing social inequalities and extreme poverty in Cape Verde.
