On Wednesday afternoon (24), the Special Projects Management Unit, represented by its Coordinator, with the Ministry of Communities, represented by the Director General of Communities, and the National Statistics Institute, represented by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, formalized the signing of the Tripartite Agreement. This agreement outlines the conditions for financing and implementing the Cape Verdean Diaspora Mapping Project.
The Tripartite Agreement on the Mapping of the Cape Verdean Diaspora is an initiative aligned with the statistical priorities of the Government of Cape Verde and is part of the Regional Project for the Harmonization and Improvement of Statistics in West Africa (HMEAO), financed by the World Bank.
This partnership lays the foundations for the financing, conducted by the government through the Ministry of Communities and the Special Projects Management Unit, of the process of mapping the Cape Verdean Diaspora, with a view to producing official statistics.
It is worth noting that the signing of this protocol took place during the launch ceremony of the Mapping the Cape Verdean Diaspora project, attended by the Prime Minister and the World Bank Director for Cape Verde.
