The Government of Cabo Verde, launched this Tuesday morning, 17, the Human Capital Project.
The ceremony that took place at the Government Palace was presided over by the Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva in the presence of the World Bank Country Director, Nathan Belete.
On the occasion, the Coordinator of the Special Projects Management Unit – UGPE, Nuno Gomes, presented the project.
It should be noted that the Government has defined, as a priority, accelerating economic growth in Cabo Verde by strengthening its Human Capital, increasing employment opportunities and improving the productivity of its citizens.
In this sense, it negotiated with the World Bank the financing of the Human Capital Project, in the amount of 26 million US dollars.
This project aims to improve access to basic services and training relevant to the job market for young people and women in Cabo Verde and is based on important results achieved in the Education and Social Protection and Productive Inclusion sectors by improving housing, access to basic services, and the living conditions of poor and vulnerable households.
Starting today May 17, 2022, this project will last up to five years, with a closing date of March 31, 2027.
