Signing of the Financing Agreement for the 2nd phase of the Technology Park Project

The Government of Cape Verde and the African Development Bank signed on Wednesday (19) a financing agreement for the 2nd phase of the Technology Park Project.

 

The signing ceremony, which took place in the conference room of the Ministry of Finance, was attended by the Coordinator of the Special Projects Management Unit, Nuno Gomes accompanied by the AfDB team, led by the Principal ICT and innovation Expert of the African Development Bank, Uyoyo Edosio.

 

On the occasion, the Deputy Prime Minister, Olavo Correia representing the Government of Cape Verde, was pleased with this agreement now signed, as it is according to the ruler of a significant step towards Digital Economy, an element that accelerates the country’s development. Because the government intends to turn this investment into job opportunities, said Correia.

 

This agreement now signed is part of the additional funding to support the implementation of the Technology Park project. This project aims to boost the ICT cluster, positioning Cape Verde as an international service delivery center and as a gateway to Africa for leading international companies in the sector.
