4th Ordinary Meeting of the Steering Committee of the Digital Cape Verde Project

The 4th Ordinary Meeting of the Steering Committee of the Digital Cape Verde Project, held on Tuesday (21), focused primarily on analyzing the project’s progress and presenting the Activity Plan for next year 2024.

 

The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Olavo Correia, and was attended by the Secretary of State for the Digital Economy, Pedro Lopes, who highlighted the importance attached by the government to progress in the digital area.

 

During the meeting, significant gains and challenges were highlighted. However, the overall trend is positive, highlighting the continued commitment of the sectors involved to driving digital evolution in Cape Verde.

 

The government reaffirmed its commitment to digital development, recognizing the strategic importance of this initiative for the advancement of technology in the country. The positive and proactive vision demonstrated by the participants reflects the collective determination to overcome the challenges and achieve the objectives of the Project Development Goal (PDO): to strengthen the foundations of Cape Verde’s digital competitiveness and improve the provision of digital public services.

 

The “Digital Cabo Verde Project” Follow-up Committee plays a crucial role as an advisory body to the member of the government responsible for Finance and the Digital Economy. This committee, in accordance with the financing agreements established between the Government of Cape Verde and the World Bank, ensures transparency and effectiveness in the implementation of the project.
