The Coordinator of the Special Projects Management Unit, Nuno Gomes, presided over the closing ceremony of the Workshop on “Job Supply and Demand Projection according to the Needs and Proposal of Skill Demands in the Catalytic Sectors by 2026”, this Thursday afternoon, August 4th.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nuno Gomes stressed that Cabo Verde has trained excellent professionals, and in view of this, other countries have been looking for competent professionals in the country to join their staff. However, the coordinator says he believes it is necessary to include in the Strategic Plan for Vocational Training the diversification of training offers, in order to attract young people with a certain level of schooling.<\/span><\/p>\n

This initiative from the Directorate General of Employment, promoted focus groups to debate several strategic priority areas, namely<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. o The Agricultural sector<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. o The Blue\/Maritime and fishing economy sector<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. o The Sector of culture and creative industries<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. o The Tourism and related sectors<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. o The Industry, trade and services sectors<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The participation and involvement of sectors and companies will allow the vocational training sector to make available an instrument for adjusting training offers, positioning it to meet the specific needs of the market, thus contributing to the development of the sectors.<\/span><\/p>\n

    It should be noted that the Strategic Plan for Vocational Training discussed here aims to define the skills development needs for the next five years, in alignment with the major national priorities for 2030, anchored in the government’s strategy to promote the development of human capital.<\/span><\/p>\n
