As part of the World Bank’s financial audit mission, which has been underway since February 2, a Financial Audit Workshop was held on the morning of Wednesday, February 4, at the Special Projects Management Unit (UGPE) facilities.
The purpose of the workshop was to improve the quality of independent audit reports and strengthen financial management.
The session was attended by the UGPE Coordinator, Nuno Gomes, who highlighted the importance of these joint assessment and learning exercises, emphasizing that the recommendations resulting from the audit process are an opportunity to improve procedures, increase institutional efficiency, and ensure greater transparency in the implementation of financed projects.
The session was attended by World Bank Financial Management Specialists, representatives of the independent audit firms AUDITEC Lda. and PwC Lda, and members of the UGPE team, including the Chief Financial Officer, the Internal Auditor, and Accountants.
During the session, corrective measures and follow-up actions were discussed, reinforcing the commitment of the parties involved to good management practices and compliance with the fiduciary standards required by the World Bank.
