Special Projects Management Unit promotes GEMS training

A training session on “Geo-Enabling initiative for Monitoring and Supervision (GEMS) promoted by the Special Projects Management Unit in partnership with the World Bank, aimed at project managers, specialists in environmental safeguards and focal points of the WB project beneficiaries and partners, took place on January 16, 17 and 19, 2023 in Praia.

 

This training aims to improve the capacity of managers and other direct participants in project management to plan, monitor and follow up projects using this tool.   

 

This tool is being widely used for real-time Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) of World Bank projects, mapping of project activities, surveys, remote supervision and portfolio mapping, but also for environmental and social risk management.

 

The “Geo-Enabling initiative for Monitoring and Supervision (GEMS) an enabling program that allows the use of simple, low-cost technology for digital data collection and analysis.
