UGPE receives delegation from the China and Portuguese-speaking Countries Cooperation Fund

On March 19, the Special Projects Management Unit (UGPE) received a visit from a delegation from the China and Portuguese-speaking Countries Cooperation Fund, led by the Fund’s new President, Mr. Wang Shaodan. The purpose of the meeting was to study possibilities for future strategic partnerships and to strengthen economic cooperation between the People’s Republic of China and Cape Verde.

During the meeting, the UGPE Coordinator, Nuno Gomes, presented the projects underway, highlighting their objectives and impact on the country’s sustainable development. The UGPE reaffirms its commitment to promoting partnerships that contribute to Cape Verde’s growth, in line with the guidelines of the China-PLP Cooperation Fund.

The delegation included the President of the China-Africa Development Fund (CADFund) and the China-PLP Cooperation Fund (CPDF), the Director-General of the CADFund’s Project Evaluation Department, the Deputy Director-General of the CPDFund’s Management Department and the Assistant Director of the same department.

During their stay in Cape Verde, the delegation held strategic meetings with local authorities and institutions relevant to the promotion of foreign investment in the country. The China/PLP Cooperation Fund has an amount of 1000 million dollars to promote investment in Portuguese-speaking countries, contributing to the strengthening of bilateral relations and the economic development of the region.
