Santa Catarina taxi drivers better able to perform their duties

More than 15 taxi drivers in Santa Catarina received the respective certificates referring to a training action in knowledge in French and English, hygiene and sanitary safety, communication and basic notions of tourism.

The delivery took place this Wednesday, 01, at the Bus Terminal, in a ceremony presided over by the Mayor and with the participation of the Coordinator of the Special Projects Management Unit.

This action aimed to professionally value taxi drivers and provide them with skills for a better performance of their activity. “Education is priceless, but the lack of education has costs, so training is very important because it empowers and improves your knowledge and will help you understand how to behave with people in certain contexts, because we are from different media, and knowing how to treat people well has to be the calling card of our municipality and Cape Verde”, said Jassira Monteiro.

Also according to the mayor, “training is also about offering quality services and products”, because “there are many taxis, but what makes us trust is the way professionals treat their customers, their vehicle, and the way they drive their car, in this way, the taxi driver works not only for tourism, but for their well-being and for the development of the local economy”, stressed Jassira.

It should be noted that the training action for taxi drivers had the support of the City Council, through the Directorate of Local Economy and Road Transport, and the Ministry of Tourism and Transport, in close partnership with the Cape Verde School of Hotel and Tourism ( EHTCV), with financing from the World Bank, through the Tourism Competitiveness and Development Project (PCDT).
