The World Bank’s mission to support the implementation of the Human Capital Project runs from October 16 to 20, with the aim of monitoring progress in the implementation of activities and agreeing on strategic actions to boost its activities.
Meetings with key government stakeholders focus on crucial areas including curriculum reform, teacher training, skills development grants, productive inclusion and support for childcare and improving housing conditions for vulnerable households. As well as assessing progress in the implementation of activities, the meetings aim to share and strengthen strategies with a view to speeding up the implementation of the project.
In addition to the meetings, the team made technical visits to the municipalities on the island of Santiago, as well as to Sal and São Vicente, to meet with local authorities and listen to the beneficiaries of the Productive Inclusion pilot. These visits are essential as they will serve as a basis for strategies tailored to specific communities.
It should be noted that representatives from the Ministries of Finance, Education, Family, Social Inclusion and Infrastructure are taking part in this mission.
At the end of the mission, the team will draw up an Aide Memoire, summarizing the main discussions and agreements reached during the mission, thus consolidating the commitment to the development of human capital in Cape Verde.
