The Special Projects Management Unit, in partnership with the National Planning Directorate, met on Tuesday (2) with the World Bank team that is in Cape Verde for a mission under the Harmonization and Improvement of Statistics in West Africa Project.
The mission, which runs until July 4, aims to analyze the progress of the HISWA project, with a focus on management, procurement processes and financial management.
In addition, the team will carry out a supervisory visit to the land registry underway in Santiago, which is an important part of the project as it involves the documentation and regularization of land holdings, a vital step towards sustainable economic development.
The World Bank team is made up of experts from various fields, including an economist, statistician, procurement specialist and financial manager, thus ensuring a comprehensive approach to the technical and operational aspects of the project.
It should be noted that the aim of this project is to strengthen the statistical system of the participating countries and regional bodies in Africa in order to produce, disseminate and improve the use of key economic and social statistics.
