Mid-term review mission analyzes the progress of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Improvement in Public Services Project

The Mid-Term Evaluation Mission of the Renewable Energy and Improved Energy Efficiency in Public Services (REIUP) Project, which runs from October 14 to 18, 2024, aims to carry out a detailed review of the project’s progress and ensure that the targets set are being met as planned.

On the first day of the mission, the experts held several coordination meetings, focused on the essential points on the agenda, to ensure that the mission ran smoothly.

A working meeting was also held with the Special Projects Management Unit (UGPE), the entity responsible for implementing the project. During this meeting, a detailed assessment was made of the progress made so far and the targets set, addressing crucial aspects such as environmental and social safeguards, financial management and disbursements, as well as procurement issues. The Monitoring and Evaluation process was also reviewed in specific meetings dedicated to analyzing the project’s performance indicators.

It should be noted that the UGPE is represented by the project manager, Daniel Santos, who has accompanied all the discussions and decisions, ensuring that actions related to the implementation of REIUP remain aligned with the project’s objectives.

The mission also had a working session with ARME, where issues related to the ongoing sector reform and its implications for sector regulation were discussed.

The mission will conclude with a meeting with the Minister of Industry, Trade and Energy and the Secretary of State for Finance, where the results obtained will be analyzed and the next steps defined, ensuring the continuity and success of the project.
