The Monitoring and Evaluation Committee of the Strengthening Education and Skills Development Project holds a meeting to take stock of the past year’s activities and reflect on the outlook for the year 2022.
The meeting that took place this Monday, February 28, had the following objectives: (i) present the balance of the PREDC activities carried out in 2021 and the main results, (ii) take stock of the PREDC indicators and goals, and (iii) share the outlines and activities planned for 2022.
The opening session was chaired by the Minister of Education, Amadeu Cruz, and included the participation of the Coordinator of the Special Projects Management Unit, Nuno Gomes, who on the occasion addressed a welcome message to all those present.
It should be noted that the aforementioned meeting was promoted by UGPE, as it is the institution that leads the Strengthening Education and Skills Development project, which aims to strengthen fundamental skills in education and improve the relevance of education and training programs framed within Cabo Verde’s strategic development plan (PEDS).
And for 2022, the project is expected to carry out several activities, with the following commitments highlighted:
- The last disbursement to the Ministry of Education regarding the fulfillment of the Results-Bound Indicator related to the 4th and 8th grade textbooks has been made;
- EGRA application (Assessment of speaking/reading to 2nd year students);
- continued implementation of the scholarship and grant program;
- monitoring of indicators and targets related to vocational training and employability.
