This Monday, September 19, a World Bank Human Development Team in Cabo Verde will host a series of visits and meetings with beneficiary entities of the Education Strengthening and Skills Development Projects, Digital Cabo Verde, Social Inclusion and COVID-19, managed by the Special Projects Management Unit.
UGPE will be represented in these trips by the respective project managers, and they include visits and meetings with the institutions and beneficiaries of the Projects, namely, the Miraflores School, and the Hotel and Tourism School and meetings with the beneficiaries of the Productive Inclusion Program of the municipality of Praia, and also get to know the experience of the Health Center of Achada Santo António in the face of COVID-19.
These visits aim to understand the results of the Project being implemented in Cabo Verde, especially in the areas of Education, Vocational Training, Social Inclusion and responses to COVID-19, with a focus on direct beneficiaries, the recent skills scholarship program, and the efforts to improve the employability of graduates in vocational training as well as to listen to students, young people and women who are direct beneficiaries of the interventions of the various projects.
In addition to these visits, other activities are planned for the mission’s agenda, including a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and Business Development, and Minister of Digital Economy, Olavo Correia, to analyze the country’s strategies for Poverty Eradication and funding opportunities in different sectors.
