The meeting held on Monday morning, aims to finalize the preparations for the “Safegards Training Week”, with the managers of ongoing projects in the Special Project Management Unit, which will take place from 14 to 17 November in the city of Praia.
During the four days of the “Safegards Training Week”, training sessions on the new Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF) will be held for national institutions working in the environment sector, both at central and local level, and specific training on Environmental and Social Management of each project, targeted at different institutional beneficiaries.
In addition to the training sessions, tools such as Stakeholder Involvement Plan (SIPP), Environmental and Social Management Framework of the projects, Resettlement Policy Framework (RSF), Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS), Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIS) among other tools will be presented to the beneficiaries of UGPE’s projects.
The trainings will be delivered by the Special Projects Management Unit in partnership with the World Bank, and are framed within the environmental and social commitment framework of the projects financed by the World Bank.
