Recently, the newspaper Inforpress published a news article highlighting the World Bank’s positive assessment of Cape Verde’s performance in implementing projects financed by the institution, classifying it as “above average” in relation to other countries. The World Bank’s public recognition also reflects the consistent work carried out in Cape Verde over recent years.
The Special Projects Management Unit (#UGPE), as the body responsible for the fiduciary management of World Bank-financed projects, plays a central role in this process, ensuring transparency, rigor, and efficiency at all stages of implementation.
More than just meeting deadlines and indicators, it is about ensuring that each investment translates into concrete benefits for the population: better access to infrastructure, more efficient health services, rapid responses to emergencies, opportunities for the private sector, and advances in strategic areas such as the blue economy, tourism, and the digital transition.
This international recognition reinforces the importance of the partnership between Cape Verde and the World Bank and motivates the UGPE to continue working with dedication and responsibility to consolidate the gains achieved and address the future challenges of the country’s sustainable development.
