This Tuesday, March 21, about 43 beneficiaries of the Municipality of São Filipe – Fogo, after completing a training course in small business management and entrepreneurship, financial education and social skills, giving them tools to better manage their businesses, received, under the Social Inclusion Project, Productive Inclusion component, business strengthening kits to beneficiaries in the areas of livestock, pastry, agriculture, small business and aesthetics.
The Social Inclusion Project Manager, Ermelinda Lima, was representing the Special Projects Management Unit, in the kits delivery ceremony, which was chaired by the Minister of Family, Inclusion and Social Development, Fernando Elísio Freire, and co-chaired by the Mayor of São Filipe, Nuias Silva.
It is important to highlight that in the municipality of São Filipe a total of 227 families are benefiting from the Social Inclusion Project, specifically through the Productive Inclusion component.
So far, from the 2000 families selected for Productive Inclusion, in the municipalities of Santa Catarina de Santiago, São Salvador do Mundo, Calheta de São Miguel, Santa Cruz, Praia, São Filipe do Fogo, São Vicente, Ribeira Grande de Santo Antão, and Porto Novo, 1756 families have completed the training and 841 families have received business support kits.
The Social Inclusion Project, financed by the World Bank, has benefited in this pilot phase, about 2,000 (two thousand) families from the 4,500 (four thousand and five hundred) SII beneficiary families, in the Productive Inclusion component. The objective is to strengthen the potential of SII beneficiary families through a set of actions, procedures, instruments and mechanisms, in conjunction with the area of employment and vocational training, enabling them to engage in income generating activities to improve their living conditions.
