On Friday, February 21, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Olavo Correia, accompanied by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Energy, Alexandre Monteiro, met with the mission’s technical team to assess the progress of the activities carried out over the week, in the context of the mission to Support the Implementation of the Renewable Energy Project and Improve Energy Efficiency in Public Services.
During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister underlined the team’s commitment and the importance of continuing to work together to ensure that the objectives set are fully achieved. He also stressed the importance of the partnership with the World Bank, not only for attracting new funding, but also for promoting sustainable solutions that favor the country’s development.
The discussion covered the main advances made and the challenges still facing the implementation of the project, with emphasis on the need to strengthen institutional coordination between the parties involved. The participants reaffirmed the government’s commitment to implementing structural reforms, as well as optimizing the efficiency of the investments made.
The mission was considered productive, allowing for a detailed analysis of progress and opportunities for improvement. At the end, the commitment to continue efforts to implement initiatives under the project was reaffirmed.
The meeting was attended by the Coordinator of the Special Projects Management Unit (UGPE), Nuno Gomes, and the World Bank Representative, Indira Campos, among other members of the technical team.
