On Tuesday, September 2, a contract was formally signed between the Ministry of Finance, through the Special Projects Management Unit (UGPE), and the company Empreitel Figueiredo, SA, for the construction of the Monte Sossego Health Center on the island of São Vicente.
This is a structural project whose main objective is to strengthen the primary health care network and improve access to quality services for the population of Monte Sossego and its surroundings, with a special focus on primary care, disease prevention, and community health promotion.
The work will be carried out in accordance with the technical specifications and tender documents defined in the public tender, representing an important milestone in the process of modernizing and expanding health infrastructure in Cape Verde.
The contract is worth 106,495,272 Cape Verdean escudos (one hundred and six million, four hundred and ninety-five thousand, two hundred and seventy-two escudos), financed through a loan from the International Development Association (IDA) of the World Bank Group, a strategic partner of the Government of Cape Verde in the implementation of projects with high social and economic impact.
With the construction of this new center, the Government reaffirms its commitment to bringing health services closer to communities and ensuring better care conditions for the population of São Vicente.
