Contract signed for the construction of the Ribeira das Patas Health Center-Santo Antão, with funding from the Cape Verde government and the World Bank

The Government of Cape Verde has taken a significant step towards improving health services in Santo Antão with the signing of the contract for the construction of the Ribeira das Patas Health Center, with funding from the Government of Cape Verde and the World Bank, as part of the “Cape Verde COVID-19 Emergency Response” Project, implemented by the Special Projects Management Unit (UGPE).

 

The signing of the contract with the firm that won the public tender, Const-ROL Projectos e Fiscalização, Lda., marks the official start of work on the construction of the state-of-the-art health center, which aims to strengthen the health infrastructure in the region.

 

The construction project, which should be completed in 10 months from the date of consignment, is intended to strengthen the health infrastructure in the region, and improve access to medical care for the population of Ribeira das Patas and surrounding areas, reaffirming the government’s commitment to strengthening the health system, especially in the face of challenges such as those faced during the COVID-19 pandemic.
