As part of its mission to support the implementation of COVID-19 Emergency Response and Health Security Projects in West and Central Africa, on October 24, the team visited the construction site of the Achada Monte Health Center in the municipality of São Miguel, on the island of Santiago.
Representing the Special Projects Management Unit (UGPE) were project manager Bruno Santos, civil engineer Carlos Pinheiro, and social specialist Kátia Marques. The purpose of the visit was to monitor the progress of the work and assess compliance with the schedule and technical and social standards defined within the scope of the project.
The Achada Monte Health Center is a modern infrastructure under construction, financed by the World Bank, as part of the “Cape Verde COVID-19 Emergency Response” Project, implemented by UGPE. With a completion deadline of 10 months, the center will provide health services in adequate and dignified conditions to the local population, contributing to the strengthening of the region’s health network.
