Support Mission assesses implementation of the Cape Verde Digital Project

The World Bank Support Mission to the Cape Verde Digital Project kicked off on Monday, September 22, with an initial debriefing led by National Planning Director Gilson de Pina. The meeting marked the start of work, allowing the World Bank and national institutions to align their perceptions on the status of project implementation and priorities for the coming period. UGPE Coordinator Nuno Gomes and Project Manager Guevara Cruz were in attendance.

On the second day, the World Bank technical team met with beneficiary institutions to discuss technical issues in greater depth and assess the progress of ongoing and planned activities. These sectoral sessions aim to identify constraints, consolidate the results achieved, and reinforce the planning of actions still to be carried out.

The mission, which runs until Friday, September 26, includes meetings with key entities such as the Ministry of Education, ARME, the Digital Services Directorate, Cabo Verde Digital, and NOSi. Among the highlights of the agenda is Thursday’s event at Tech Park Cabo Verde, which will present the new platform connecting entrepreneurs and mentors, an initiative that aims to strengthen the national and diaspora innovation ecosystem.

The proceedings will conclude on the 26th with a final review session attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Economy, in coordination with the main ministries and partners involved.
