The public session held on Tuesday, March 18, in the city of Mindelo, was chaired by the Minister of Infrastructure, Spatial Planning and Housing, Victor Coutinho, and was attended by the UGPE Coordinator, Nuno Gomes, and the manager of the Project for Harmonization and Improvement of Statistics in West Africa, José Moniz.
The Land Registry Operation is an initiative of the Cape Verdean government that consists of the systematic collection of information on the rights and boundaries of all properties, including land, buildings, constructions and individual fractions under horizontal ownership, located in the City of Mindelo.
The implementation of this initiative is funded by the World Bank and is under the fiduciary management of the UGPE, as part of the Harmonization Project in Improving Statistics in West Africa.
The main objective is to create a single cadastral information system, with up-to-date data on properties and the rights associated with them, promoting the registration of these rights at the Land Registry.
It also aims to guarantee access to reliable information quickly and securely, contributing to more efficient and transparent land management.
