Training in procurement procedures to strengthen skills in project implementation

On March 18 and 19, 2024, #UGPE in partnership with the World Bank organized a training on Procurement procedures at its premises. The training is taking place at UGPE, and is primarily aimed at training staff from UGPE, Estradas de Cabo Verde (ECV), Infraestruturas de Cabo Verde (ICV) and the Ministry of Infrastructure, Spatial Planning and Housing (MIOTH) involved in implementing World Bank-funded projects in Cape Verde.

The topics covered included the World Bank’s Procurement Framework, with emphasis on the clauses of the Procurement Regulations, the application of Rated Criteria in Works and Equipment tenders, and Contract Management. The latter section involved both a theoretical part and a practical demonstration of the corresponding module in the #WorldBank’s STEP procurement system.

The training was attended by 11 staff representing the different institutions involved and was given by the World Bank’s Senior Procurement Specialist, Laurent Mehdi Brito.
