BM takes stock of the Mid-term Evaluation mission of the Digital Cape Verde Project that took place from July 10 to 19

The team was received by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Business Development, Olavo Correia, accompanied by the Secretary of State for Digital Economy, Pedro Lopes, on Tuesday (18).

 

On the occasion, the World Bank made a positive assessment of this mission. According to the resident representative, Eneida Fernandes, “in general there have been significant advances in the project and the perception we have regarding the activities is that we are in the right direction”. Therefore, Fernandes, says she believes this is the ideal time to make this reassessment of the project’s performance and understand what can be improved”.

 

On the other hand, the WB representative praised the work of the government, and also reiterated the bank’s willingness to continue to make every effort to support the country’s development.

 

The Special Projects Management Unit was represented at the meeting by its Coordinator, Nuno Gomes and the Digital Cabo Verde project manager, Guevara Cruz.

 

It should be noted that the main beneficiaries of the project’s activities include several institutions, namely the Directorate-General for Telecommunications and Digital Economy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – consular representations, the Competitiveness Unit – Prime Minister’s Office, the Multisectoral Regulatory Agency for the Economy, the Operational Center for the Information Society, the Ministry of Education and Pro-Enterprise – Cabo Verde Digital.
