World Bank Executive Director visits UGPE facilities

The Special Projects Management Unit received today, Thursday, (13), in the new facilities located in Plateau, Ex BCV Building, the visit of the Executive Director of the World Bank, ED Abdul Salam Bello, during his two-day service mission to Cape Verde.

 

Accompanied by the World Bank Resident Representative, Eneida Fernandes, Salam Bello was received by the Coordinator, Nuno Gomes, and a guided tour of the new space was made.

 

He then had a meeting with different departments of UGPE, including procurement, finance and project managers in order to learn about UGPE’s vision and strategy in relation to project implementation.

 

The Executive Director of the WB, praised “the work done by UGPE in the implementation of projects, which results according to him in a clear benefit for the development of the country”.

 

Abdoul Salam Bello is the Executive Director of the Africa II Group on the Board of Directors of the World Bank Group, representing 23 African countries. He has extensive experience in economic development, multilateral trade cooperation and diplomacy.

 

It should be noted that, since the move to the new premises, this marks the first official visit made to UGPE.
