On the morning of this Tuesday, the 26th, a meeting was held to discuss the activities planned within the scope of the implementation of the Digital Cabo Verde Project, financed by the World Bank, in the amount of 20 million dollars for a period of five years, aiming at accelerating the Cabo Verde’s digital transformation and strengthening the foundations of digital competitiveness in order to improve the provision of public services.
The meeting’s agenda was to share and reflect on the project’s activity plan, presented by the manager, Guevara Cruz. This plan is the result of a process negotiated in 2020 between the World Bank and the Government of Cabo Verde, with the Special Projects Management Unit as the fiduciary entity.
Similarly to what happened last week with the projects (Human Capital and Resilient Tourism), in the Mini Country Portfolio Performance Review – of the Digital Cabo Verde Project, topics such as the current status of activities, the project restructuring process as well as the forecast of priority activities planned until the end of the year were discussed.
During the meeting, the World Bank Resident Representative, Eneida Fernandes, emphasized that the bank, in partnership with the Special Projects Management Unit, are committed to the good performance of the project, with real impacts in the beneficiary sectors. “It is essential that we maintain pro-activity and focus on the programmed activities and be able to carry them out successfully,” said Fernandes.
For their part, the beneficiaries were able to express their considerations, clarify doubts about the instruments and procedures required by UGPE/World Bank in the execution of the contests.
