The Commercial Advisor of the Canadian Trade Office for Senegal, Guinea, Cape Verde, Gambia, and Guinea-Bissau, Samuel Duchesne, paid an institutional visit to UGPE on Tuesday, February 4, as part of his new role in the region and his mission in Cape Verde, focused on establishing contacts and exploring opportunities for future partnerships.
During the meeting, UGPE Coordinator Nuno Gomes presented the Unit’s operating model for fiduciary project management, with an emphasis on the energy, tourism, blue economy, and digital economy sectors, detailing the activities underway and the status of each project’s implementation. Finally, the Coordinator reiterated UGPE’s willingness to provide whatever support is necessary, strengthening cooperation and contributing to future partnerships.
Samuel Duchesne had the opportunity to learn about how UGPE works and understand its role in the fiduciary management of projects financed by international partners.
The visit is part of a schedule of institutional meetings aimed at identifying areas of collaboration and support for structural projects of common interest, particularly in the fields of infrastructure, the electricity sector, tourism, technology, and human capital development.
This first meeting marked the beginning of an institutional dialogue aimed at strengthening cooperation between Cape Verde and Canada, with a focus on supporting structural projects and strengthening fiduciary capacities.
