A European Union (EU) Technical Delegation is in Cape Verde to conduct an assessment of the financial sector, with a particular focus on access to finance for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) operating in priority sectors, namely green, blue, and digital.
As part of this mission, the delegation met on Thursday, December 11, with the Special Projects Management Unit (UGPE) to learn about the dynamics of implementing projects under the unit’s responsibility, as well as its management, coordination, and monitoring mechanisms.
As the unit responsible for managing strategic projects with an impact on priority sectors, the UGPE shared its institutional experience through its Coordinator, highlighting good practices, challenges faced, and lessons learned in the implementation process.
During the meeting, the EU Delegation expressed interest in deepening its knowledge of the UGPE’s experience, considering it relevant for defining future interventions and instruments to support MSME financing in Cape Verde.
This technical mission aims to inform and guide future European Union interventions in the country, with a view to strengthening the financial sector and promoting sustainable development in strategic sectors.
