Cape Verde strengthens its resilience and invests in cybersecurity in the face of digital challenges

TechPark is the setting chosen to host a cybersecurity training initiative, part of an international consortium aimed at fostering growing digital literacy and knowledge in the country.

This cybersecurity training initiative will take place from February 21 to 27 and will bring together around 30 trainees representing 17 institutions.

The training will take place at TechPark and will be given by VisionWare, a Portuguese technology company specializing in Information Security and Cybersecurity.

This initiative is part of the Cape Verdean government’s financing, through a loan obtained from the World Bank for the implementation of the Digital Cape Verde Project, in the global amount of 20 million USD, whose objective is to contribute to transforming the country into a regional digital hub to accelerate its digital economy through an improved digital infrastructure and a strengthened demand for digital services and skills.

In the current Cape Verdean digital context, marked by increasing cyberattacks, it is crucial to align actions with the Cape Verdean Government’s strategy, promoting digital literacy and cybersecurity. Faced with the complexity of cybercrime, investing in cybersecurity becomes essential to ensure the resilience and digital empowerment of organizations and entities.
